06/03/2016: CRON showcases HDI Flexo 1600 CTP and Thermal CTP Plate Setting Systems at Gulf Print and Pack

The high performance CRON HDI Flexo 1600 CTP will be on display at the Monia Group stand (E10) at Gulf Print and Pack this March, highlighting CRON’s advances in flexo packaging and labelling solutions. Launched at drupa 2016, this will be the first time that an HDI Flexo 1600 unit has been exhibited outside of China. CRON’s Thermal CTP: TP4648G will also be on display at the booth, representing CRON’s wide range of precision imaging systems.

"CRON is taking part in Gulf Print and Pack for the first time, having seen strong demand for our cost-effective pre-press solutions in the region," comments Derek Sizer, Regional Director, EMEAR. "The HDI Flexo system delivers superior performance and fast turnaround plate setting, but is also very economical and low-environmental impact. Gulf Print and Pack attendees will be able to see first-hand how CRON's CTP products deliver great flexibility for a great variety of packaging and labelling functions."

Designed with CRON's philosophy of reducing waste, while striving for "perfect print", the HDI Flexo CTP units are available in three size formats: 600 and 900mm for label applications, and 1600mm for general packaging work, and three options to enable users to fine tune production to their print requirements. "S" variants have a maximum resolution of 5080 dpi, while "H" variants have a maximum resolution of 9600 dpi.

The exposure platform, based on CRON’s magnetic linear drive system, has gained much praise in the offset CTP market for its ability to image accurate and high quality dots from 1-99%, easily competing with offset quality when printed. All HDI Flexo variants are compatible with all digital photopolymer plates, ablative films and polyester-based letterpress plate.

CRON's TP46 Series of Thermal plate setters also offer optimum flexibility of use. With a maximum plate size of 1160 × 940mm, CRON TP46 products cover the full spectrum of print jobs from B1 to A3+, with full flexibility of plate format down to the minimum of 450 × 370mm. The TP46 models allow users to tune production to their individual resolution and throughput requirements.

Derek Sizer says "Our existing customers have been very impressed by the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of our CTP systems. Our extremely accurate register and punching systems reduce make-ready time and waste, which means a substantial cost saving. Meanwhile, the units are very compact, making them incredibly convenient for any packaging company to install."

CRON demonstrated its commitment to innovation by announcing several new products at drupa 2016 under the theme of "True Image, True Color, True Print", evolving the company's product offering from the traditional CTP market into broader fields of offset press optimization, plate production and flexo packaging.
